How Has Technology Shaped Our World Today?

Imagine going back to when our parents were our age, around the 1970's. During that time our parents didn't have portable cell phones or even smart phones, flat screen TV's, portable laptops, smart watches etc. When our parents were kids, they didn't have phones with apps, like Snap Chat, Facebook, or Instagram, and they couldn't texts their friends whenever they wanted. They didn't have laptops that you could carry in your backpack and pull them out whenever and do work. They couldn't sit on the couch and turn on their 50 in flat screen TV and watch their favorite TV shows and movies on Netflix. So come back to present day. Think how much do you do those things I just listed, a lot I'm sure. In those forty years from our parents childhood to our childhood we can see how much technology has advanced and shaped our world today. Research Update

So far the most difficult part of my research process has been finding the sources. My topic consists of two different parts that I have to research, so I had to find five sources for each of those parts. It was hard to find five sources that were relevant to each part. The annotated bibliography was also hard task to complete. We had to choose our six best sources and write a summary, an evaluation, and a reflection on each and while doing so I realized that some of my sources did not have as much information as I thought they did. I think finding the sources and actually looking and writing down summaries of each source are the hardest and most boring parts of the research process. I think now I am more organized and now it will be easier to complete my research paper. I am confident in my research and how I have done so far.

LOTF Reading Response Pg. 91

The world, that understandable and lawful world, was slipping away.  Once there was this and that; and now--and the ship had gone. [... Jack refusing to give Piggy the floor when he has the conch...] "The rules!" shouted Ralph.  "You're breaking the rules!" "Who cares?" Ralph summoned his wits. "Because the rules are the only thing we've got!" But Jack was shouting against him. "Bollocks to the rules!  We're strong--we hunt!  If there's a beast, we'll hunt it down!  We'll close in and beat and beat and beat--!" (91) This paragraph shows that the boys were forgetting the ways of the old civilization they once knew before life on the island. The ideas of orders,  organization, and rules were slowly neglected. This fault in their society caused the boys to split up into two different tribes and also caused the death of Piggy and Simon.
