Launch Response Post

One of the presentations that stood out to me was Mary Caroline's thesis about dreams. She showed how stress, sleep, and school are all connected to each other. All three of these things control our way of life. They are all apart of a cause and affect cycle, we go to school everyday, which causes lots of stress, and the stress which lessens the amount of sleep we get. She also said that stress doesn't only affect the amount of sleep we get, but it also affects our dreams.
Overall Launch Day was more fun than I thought it would be. The presentations were all very interesting and engaging. It was cool how the presentations were in lots of different places and not just in the VPAC. The breaks at the "Launchpad" was also very fun. We got to decorate our own cookies and then eat them. The music and dancing was also really entertaining.

Free Post: Snow Days

After the first week back from winter break I was so excited that we had a three day weekend and that I got to sleep in an extra day. I never would have thought that it would turn out to be a 5 and maybe possible 6 day weekend. I did not know it was even going to possibly snow until late Monday afternoon.  I was hoping that school would be closed Tuesday, but then Mrs. Spencer sent an email saying we are going to have school and I was really bummed out. Then around 5:40 the next morning my dad came into my room and told me that school was cancelled. Although I was very tired and did not show much emotion I was so happy and relieved inside. At first I was confused about why there was no school because only until around 7:00 did it start to snow. Around 1:00 on Tuesday they announced that school would be closed down on Wednesday as well. My weekend was very fun! It started off on Friday night at the varsity basketball game. We played Newman in the quarterfinals, and won! After the game the players and coaches cut down the net and then we gave Coach Beckman a water bath with the water cooler to celebrate the victory. This will be the second consecutive year we will be going to the semi-finals. Then I had to wake up early to do my first driving appointment in order to get my driver's permit. It was really fun driving around Baton Rouge for two hours and not getting a wreck. Later that day I got ready for the SJA sweetheart dance. We went to someone's house to take pictures before the dance. Then we went and ate at Gino's, and the food was very good. Then we went to the dance. The dance was really fun and the best part was getting to see all my friends from St. George and some other schools. Then we went and hung out at my friends house after the dance.
