Research Update #2

I'm doing my research paper on the Black Death and the Spanish Flu, two of the most deadly epidemics in history, and I want to find out which was really the deadliest. My topic is very interesting because both diseases caused panic all over the world. Both epidemics greatly decreased the worlds population.
The Black Death is the main reason for the decline of papacy and feudalism in Europe, and is responsible for 25- 40% of Europe’s population between 1347-1351. The influenza pandemic caused an estimated thirty to seventy-five million deaths, or 2.5 to 5% of the world’s population. The flu epidemic caused huge mortality rates but uneven by country, killing approximately 3% of the world’s population. Most people don't know this but there were two different plagues that made up the Black Death: the most known as the bubonic plague, where the lymph glands swell. Then there is the pneumonic plague, where they lungs succumbed first.
